We compute all the relations in cohomology satisfied by the elements of deg ree two of H*(U-n(F-p),Z) where p greater than or equal to n and U-n(F-p) i s the group of upper triangular matrices of GL(n)(F-p) with 1 on the main d iagonal. (C) 2001 Academic Press.
