The structure of the complex oxide Li3CuSbO5 was determined by single-cryst
al X-ray diffraction at 0.71-Angstrom resolution in space group P (1) over
bar; a=5.1598(6), b =5.3798(7), c=7.7953(10) Angstrom, alpha =105.523(9), b
eta =102.419(9), gamma =103.411(10)degrees, V=193.74 (4) Angstrom (3), Z=2,
R-1=2.41% for 955 reflections having I>2 sigma (I) and wR(2)=5.22% for 110
7 independent reflections. The observed structure is based on close packing
layers of oxide ions and is related with that of rock salt. (C) 2001 Acade
