Synthesis and antifungal activities of omega-[4-aryl-5-(1-phenyl-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-1,2,4-triazol-3-thio]-omega-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)acetophenones

New 4-aryl-5-(1-phenyl-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-1,2, 4-triazol-3-thione s 3 have been synthesized by the intramolecular cyclization of 4-aryl-1-(1- phenyl-5-methyl-1,2,4-triazol-4-formyl)thiosemicarbazides 2 with an 8% NaOH solution, and then 3 reacted with omega -bromo-omega-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-y l)acetophenone to afford omega-[4-aryl-5-(1-phenyl-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazol-4 -yl)-1,2,4-triazol-3-thio]-omega-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-acetophenones 4. T he preliminary biological test showed that the representative compounds pos sess some antifungal activities.
