Abstract
Low-noise cw 8.7-mW blue light is generated by frequency doubling of the ou tput of a Fabry-Perot diode laser in a KNbO3 crystal inside a bow-tie ring cavity. The blue output has a narrow linewidth and a greater than 10-GHz co ntinuous tuning range, with intensity fluctuations of less than 0.02 dB. Th e blue light has a near-diffraction-limited Gaussian TEM00, mode with M-2 a pproximate to 1. (C) 2001 Optical Society of America.
