Abstract
We investigate the electromagnetic properties of the obliquely cut surfaces of photonic crystals consisting of alternating layers of two materials wit h different refractive indices. We show analytically that the obliquely cut surface does not support the propagation of well-confined surface waves. ( C) 2001 Optical Society of America.
