Abstract
We report the relative coherence lifetimes far the biexciton polarizat ion and the exciton polarization following ultrafast resonant excitati on in ZnSe/(Zn,Cd)Se multiple quantum wells. The excitonic and biexcit onic nature of the observed third-order polarization is demonstrated b y selection rules and comparison with a theoretical treatment. We show the polarization coherence lifetimes to be related by a factor of two (T-2(X) = 2T(2)(B)) and discuss the origin of this relationship.
