Abstract
Full Paper: Ionomers (AClyn(R) Na, and AClyn(R) Zn) were used as nucleating additives, and their effect on crystallization of poly(ethylene terephthal ate) (PET) was investigated by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC ). The results showed that the crystallization rate of PET is accelerated b y both ionomers, and the ionomer containing Na+ increases the crystallizati on rate of PET slightly more than the ionomer containing Zn+2. In addition, the measurement of solution viscosity of PET certified that the addition o f ionomers led to a minor decrease in molecular weight of PET.
