A general analysis of the HMQC experiment for ISn nuclear spin systems is d
escribed. The optimal condition for setting up the HMQC experiment was deri
ved. At this optimal condition, the expected HMQC signal was maximized and
unwanted signals were satisfactorily reduced. The result was confirmed with
