In this paper, we describe the realization of an ASIC which may significant
ly simplify the instrumental apparatus for measures in UHV (ultra-high vacu
um, p less than or equal to 10(-9) mbar) while permitting very fast acquisi
tions. The chip will first be used in ESCA experiments; however, its parall
el architecture and the fast serial protocol for data transmission may incr
ease the efficiency of the measure process in any experiment where multicha
