Abstract
We consider a rectangular Vandermonde matrix V on integer nodes. Using comb inatorial identities, we give an explicit Cholesky factorization of the mat rix B = (VV)-V-T, a factorization of the pseudo-inverse of V. and asymptoti c estimates of the extremal eigenvalues of B. We also discuss the numerical properties of the proposed formulas.
