P. Bogdanovich et al., Theoretical calculation of transition probabilities and lifetimes of levels of the 4d(9)5p configuration of CdIII, OPT SPECTRO, 90(1), 2001, pp. 4-7
The configuration superposition method realized in the basis of Hartree-Foc
k functions and transformed radial orbitals with variable parameters is app
lied to ab initio calculation of electronic transition probabilities from l
evels of the 4d(9)5p configuration of the CdIII ion. Relativistic correctio
ns in the energy spectra are calculated within the framework of the Hartree
-Fock-Pauli approximation, i.e., in the second order in the fine structure
constant. The inclusion of correlation and relativistic corrections makes i
t possible to achieve a good coincidence of the values of electric dipole t
ransition probabilities calculated with the use of two forms of the operato
r-the form of length and the form of velocity-for both strong and weak tran
sitions. Using the transition probabilities obtained, radiative lifetimes o
f levels of the configuration indicated are determined. They are in a good
agreement with the currently available experimental data. (C) 2001 MAIK "Na
