Abstract
The reaction between cis-[Pt(C6F5)(2)(PPh2H)(2)], [Pt(norbornene)(3)], and PPh3 (1:1:1) results in the formation of the Pt(II) derivatives [(C6F5)(2)P t(mu -PPh2)(mu -H)Pt(PPh2H)(PPh3)] (1) and [{(C6F5)(PPh3)Pt(mu -PPh2)(mu -H )}(2)Pt] (2). For the molar ratio 1:1:2 the reaction proceeds with formatio n of the Pt(I) derivative [(C6F5)(PPh3)Pt(mu -PPh2)Pt(PPh3)(2)] (8) and the Pt(II) derivatives [(C6F5)(2)Pt(mu -PPh2)(mu -H)Pt(PPh3)(2)] (4) and [(C6F 5)(PPh3)Pt(mu -PPh2)(2)Pt(H)(PPh3)] (5). The structures of complexes 2, 3, and 5 have been established by X-ray diffraction. Spectroscopic (IR and NMR ) data are also given.
