Abstract
The preparation and structure of the rigid rod-like platinum monoacetylide {Pt}C=C-4-C6H2I-1-(CH2NMe2)(2)-2,6) ({Pt}= [Pt(C6H3{Me2NCH2}2-2,6)]) are de scribed. Its oxidative addition to Pd(dba)(2) yields a heterobinuclear {P}C =C{Pd}I complex ({Pd}=[Pd(-4-C6H2{Me2NCH2}(2)-2, 6)](+)); this provides a n ew strategy for the controlled and stepwise construction of rigid rod-like metallopolymers.
