Despite significant side effects, antipsychotic medications are useful for many pediatric patients with behavior or psychiatric disorders that are dif ficult to control. The authors review the history of the antipsychotics, th eir mechanisms of action, their possible uses, management of their potentia l side effects, and drug-drug interactions.
