Recently, the Babar and Belle Collaborations have reported their first meas
urements of the CP-violating asymmetry in B-d-->psiK(S), and more precise r
esults will follow soon. We discuss what future evidence for small sin 2 be
ta could mean, contrasting the usual possibility of new physics in the B-d
system with the interesting alternative that the new physics effects are co
nfined to the kaon system.
