The compatibility of components in the PC (M-w = 2.5 x 10(4))-PMMA (M-w = 1
.5 x 10(4), 7.4 x 10(4), 30 x 10(4)) blend at a temperature above the T-g o
f PC was studied by the microinterference method. The constructed phase dia
grams are shown to contain an UCST. For the PC-PMMA system (M-w = 1.5 x 10(
4)), the kinetics of diffusion mixing and viscosity properties (at T = 240
degreesC) were characterized at different points of the phase diagram. The
corresponding dependence of viscosity on composition shows a local minimum
near a binodal at a higher content of PC.
