Abstract
During a three-year period of observation, the authors evaluated behav ioural patterns of cattle on summer alpine pastures. The parameters re corded were:feed, walking, rest, rumination, organic functions, drinki ng and social interactions. Most of these behavioural patterns show a certain daily rhythmicity caused by precise physiological reactions an d adaptations to the different environmental conditions in the span of 24 hours.
