Abstract
The corrosion resistance of composite phosphate-nitride layers on BHC-17 an d 69 stainless steels nitrided in a magnetic field is discussed. The protec tion of the steels in a 3%NaCl solution is shown to be of a predominantly e lectrochemical mechanism.
