Imaging angiogenesis

Angiogenesis of tumors has gained tremendous attention in the research comm unity over the last years. Novel anti-angiogenic treatment protocols are cu rrently in various phases of clinical testing. Thus, the major challenge fo r Radiological diagnostics is to develop imaging methods which reliably mea sure the angiogenic tumor burden as well as tumor response to anti-angiogen ic treatment in vivo. This article intends to provide a brief overview of i maging strategies for angiogenesis and anti-angiogenic treatment.
