Abstract
Single crystals of M[SnF(SO4)] (M = NH4, K) were prepared. The tin(II) coor dination polyhedron in the structure of NH4[SnF(SO4)] is a trigonal pyramid with a stereochemically active lone electron pair at the apex (Sn-F 2.013 Angstrom; Sn-O 2.196, 2.370 Angstrom). In K[SnF(SO4)], the tin atom is surr ounded by an array of one fluorine atom (Sn-F 2.043 Angstrom) and three oxy gen atoms of three sulfate groups (Sn-O 2.237 to 2.434 Angstrom). The tin(I I) coordination polyhedron is a distorted trigonal bipyramid with the lone election pair in the equatorial plane.
