Abstract
1-Morpholino-3,3-dimethyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline (L) and its complexes wit h cobalt(II) and copper(II) chlorides of the (LH)(2)[MCl4] composition were synthesized. The structures of the compounds were studied by X-ray crystal lography and electronic and IR spectroscopy. The isostructural complexes (L H)(2)[ML4], where M = Co2+ or Cu2+, have the cation-anion structure. The or ganic ligand HL+ with a proton at the nitrogen atom of the dihydroisoquinol ine moiety is linked to the [MCl4](2-) through the N-H . . . Cl hydrogen bo nd.
