Structuring content for a knowledge transfer using multiple media

Life long learning concepts and the growing transparency of education syste ms demand flexible, transferable and efficient solutions for computer suppo rted teaching and learning environments. These high demands can be satisfie d by hypertext systems operating in the world wide web. This paper discusse s didactical and technical deficiencies in existing approaches and develops an integration model for systematic information analysis and modelling. Th e suggested approach combines the Information Mapping(R) method with the do cument standard Extensible Markup Language XML. It's feasability for the de velopment of learning environments is demonstrated by the example research project ELBE which creates electronic lectures for business education.
