Abstract
This paper reviews and analyzes the spatial dispersion of economic activiti
es in the Peoples' Republic of China for the period of 1952-1985, The purpo
se of the paper is to shed light on the future prospect of spatial developm
ent in China. Specifically, the paper examines the relationship between spa
tial dispersions of economic activities and the central government's policy
for economic development in past decades.
