Xx. Zhang et al., EXPERIMENTAL-EVIDENCE OF QUANTUM TUNNELING OF 2D VORTICES UP TO 10-K IN BULK TL2BA2CA2CU3O10 SUPERCONDUCTOR, Physica. C, Superconductivity, 232(1-2), 1994, pp. 99-103
Low-temperature magnetic relaxation measurements have been performed i
n a sintered Tl2Ba2Ca2Cu3O10 bulk high-T(c) superconductor, with an ap
plied magnetic field of 50 Oe. A temperature-independent normalized ma
gnetic relaxation rate below 10 K is observed. The transition from the
thermally activated vortex motion regime to the quantum tunneling reg
ime is found to be very sharp, indicating the absence of dissipation i
n this magnetic field. The observed behaviour is explained in terms of
single 2D vortex motion in the Cu-O layers.
