A simple method is proposed that provides high-precision measurements
of the relative light characteristics of photodetectors and makes it p
ossible to correct them. This method is applied to measuring the light
characteristics of FEU-100, FEU-79, and FEU-62 photomultipliers. It i
s shown that for FEU-100 and FEU-79, they are not linear in the entire
range of the photomultiplier currents, A formula is proposed for the
correction of the light characteristics of FEU-100 and FEU-79 that all
ows the extension of their operating range by a factor of 50, with an
error in the relationship between the current and the light flux withi
n 1%.
