Rk. Nikolaev et al., ELECTRON-IONIZATION ION-SOURCE IN A MI-1201 MASS-SPECTROMETER FOR THEANALYSIS OF SOLIDS AT 300-800-DEGREES-C, Instruments and experimental techniques, 40(2), 1997, pp. 268-270
A comparatively simple modification of a standard ion source is descri
bed, which allows the measurement of the electron-ionization mass spec
tra of small samples of evaporated solids. After this modification, a
commercial MI-1201 mass spectrometer can be used for the analysis of m
icrogram amounts of high-molecular-mass solids with a saturated vapor
pressure of not less than 10(-5) Pa in the temperature interval 300-80
0 degrees C. The possibilities of the modified instrument are demonstr
ated by determination of the content of the C-70 C-70 component in C-6
0 fullerite samples of various purity.
