Abstract
A procedure of film preparation by laser evaporation in a vacuum of 10 (-7)-10(-8) Torr is described. A Pyrex ampule was evacuated to 5 x 10( -6) Torr with a magnetic discharge pump. After the ampule was sealed o ff, the vacuum was further increased by sputtering a titanium foil (a getter) with a pulsed Nd:YAG laser (lambda = 1.06 mu m). The electric characteristics of CdSb and Cd(?)xHg(1-x)Se films obtained were close to those of the initial substances.
