Abstract
The deposition of inertialess aerosol particles with a finite radius is inv estigated on fibrous filters under the effect of gravitational and molecula r forces. It is shown that particles are deposited on fibers from an upgoin g slow flow as a result of the action of van der Waals forces that balance the gravitational particle displacement from the flow lines near the fibers .
