Abstract
In this study, three kinds of Ag-Cu-alloy-sheathed superconducting tap es with Cu contents of 0, 2.5, and 5 wt% were prepared for investigati ng the influence of Cu addition to the Ag sheathe on the microstructur e and the critical current density. The Ag-Cu-sheathed tape showed a h igher mechanical strength and a higher oxide density. From X-ray diffr action analysis, the temperature for 2223 phase formation was confirme d to be decreased with Cu alloying.
