The excitation of (4)G degrees, H-4 degrees, and I-4 degrees levels of vana
dium atom in electron-atom collisions is investigated using the methods of
extended crossing beams and optical spectroscopy. The total excitation cros
s sections at the electron energy of 30 eV are determined for these levels.
The maximum values of the cross sections (about 2 x 10(-16) cm(2)) corresp
ond to the F-4(P-1)(x)(4)G(J)degrees levels.
