It was recently suggested that, when magnetic field varies arbitrarily in b
oth direction and magnitude, certain portions of the magnetic field traject
ory can be replaced without any effect on the resulting magnetization and i
ts subsequent evolution. Here, this vector form of wipe-out memory is teste
d experimentally for particulate iron oxide magnetic medium using a vibrati
ng sample magnetometer by generating magnetic field trajectories that are s
elf-crossing. It is shown that for the class of the trajectories considered
here the suggested vector form of wipe-out memory is agrees well with expe
rimental data.
