Abstract
The Y-3(Fe0.96Ti0.04)(29) compound has a monoclinic Nd-3(Fe,Ti)sg-type (P21 /c) structure, and an easy-cone type anisotropy, The Curie temperature Te o f the monoclinic 3:29-type Y-3(Fe0.96Ti0.04)(29) is about 403 K, which is s lightly higher than that of the 2:17-type Y2Fe17 (325 K) and lower than tha t of the 1:12-type YFe11Ti (524 K). The average iron magnetization of the Y -3(Fe0.96Ti0.04)(29) is 1.87 mu (B) at 4.2 K, This value is higher than the corresponding value of 1.7 mu (B) for the 1:12-type one, and lower than th e value of 2.01 mu (B) for the Y2Fe17 one. These results confirm the fact t hat 3:29-type structure is the intermediate between the 2:17-type and 1:12- type ones.
