Abstract
This paper is aimed to analyze the electromagnetic force characteristics of a transverse flux linear switched-reluctance motor (TFLSRM) that is applic able for track-guided ground transportation and industrial automation syste ms. Stability enhancements on the three-dimensional (3-D) operational behav iors and application validity of this machine will be illustrated by both t he finite element analysis (FEA) and the eigenvalue analysis [1], Besides, a supplemental comparison for flux guidance and force augmentation of linea r motor with and without permanent magnet implemented will be investigated for practical consideration.
