Quantum phase pumping

In this Letter we consider the adiabatic charge transport through a normal mesoscopic sample sandwiched by superconductors without modulation of local chemical potentials. The deformation of coherent quasiparticles in the nor mal metal in the presence of periodically changing phases in the supercondu ctors leads to a charge transport. Both the magnitude and the phase depende nce of the charge transferred per period through the sample strongly depend on temperature.
