Abstract
Vegetation-to-milk transfer coefficients for Cs-137, Sr-90 and stable stron tium were determined For cows grazing on two intensively managed lowland pa stures and two Alpine pastures in Austria. The Sr-90 transfer coefficient a t the four pastures ranged from 0.0005 to 0.0012 dl(-1) and correlated with the stable strontium transfer coefficient (0.0006 - 0.0013 dl(-1)) with th e lower values found on the intensively managed pastures. The Cs-137 transf er coefficient ranged from 0.0009 - 0.0045 dl(-1). (C) 2001 Elsevier Scienc e Ltd. All rights reserved.
