Abstract
We report two patients with epileptic syndromes who developed non-convulsiv e status epilepticus under adjunctive antiepileptic therapy with tiagabine. The paradoxical effect may be the result of a difference in effects betwee n GABA(A) and GABA(B) receptors, or between GABA receptors in different reg ions of the brain.
