Abstract
We investigate the possibility of using the electric-field-dependent laser- induced fluorescence scheme X(1)Sigma (nu ", J ") --> (BII)-I-1(nu', J') -- > X(1)Sigma(nu, J = J', J' +/- 1) to create an image (or movie) of the elec tric field surrounding an object. Specifically we find that when NaRb is pr obed in this way, vector correlations between the excitation laser polariza tion, fluorescence radiation polarization, and electric field vector are se nsitive to the magnitude of the electric field, even when the wavelength of the fluorescence land hence final state J) is not resolved.
