Approaching the QCD critical point in an experiment with colliding heavy-io
ns we expect the formation of a condensate build-up from masssless sigma-pa
rticles organized in clusters with prescribed fractal geometry. As the syst
em freezes the mass of the a's increases and they decay into pious when it
reaches the two-pion threshold. We show that with a suitable algorithm we c
an reconstruct the sigma-particle spectrum, carrying the critical propertie
s, from the produced charged pions. Performing a factorial moment analysis
in the momentum space distribution of the reconstructed sigma 's rye observ
e an enhancement of the corresponding intermittency exponents, relative to
the results in the pionic analysis. indicating the presence of strong criti
cal fluctuations in the sigma-sector. We suggest therefore to use this reco
nstruction scheme in order to explore the QCD critical point in experiments
with heavy ions.
