We discuss a simple approach to heavy ion collisions, a model with string a
bsorption and fusion (leading to percolation phase transition), which we us
e to describe J/Psi suppression, multiplicity distributions and transverse
energy distributions. For J/Psi suppression, the model qualitatively agrees
with NA50 data and makes precise predictions for RHIC and LHC. For multipl
icity and E-T distributions, the model shows that they are not sensitive to
the percolation phase transition; the effect of string fusion may be detec
table in high statistics experiments.
