Abstract
The activity of the potassium salt of lapachol against the snail Biomphalar ia glabrata and its egg masses was tested. The obtained IC,, values (2.70 p pm and 1.43 ppm, respectively) are indicative of a strong activity. Lapacho l derivatives were also assayed against infective trypomastigote blood form s of T.cruzi and the triacetoxy derivative of reduced lapachol showed relev ant trypanocidal activity, killing 95.7 % of the parasites at the concentra tion of 42 mug/mL.
