FLUOROMETRIC-DETERMINATION OF ARSENIC(III) WITH FLUORESCEIN

A rapid, simple, and sensitive fluorometric method has been developed for the determination of arsenic(III) with fluorescein as fluorogenic reagent (lambda(ex) = 495 nm, lambda(em) = 516 nm) at pH 5.2-7.0. A li near calibration curve was obtained in the range 0.01 - 2.5 mu g As(II I)/25 ml. The detection limit is 0.01 mu g As(III)/25 ml. The method w as successfully applied to the determination of arsenic(III) in waste- and river water. (C) 1997 Academic Press.
