Abstract
Ophthalmology examination of a domestic rabbit isn't just a routine task an ymore. In this species, the main diseases of the eyeball met by veterinaria ns mainly affect the fibrous coat, especially the cornea. The first part of this review will study the anatomic and histology characteristics of the f ibrous coat in the rabbit eye. Then, pathology will be considered. Therefor e, after recalling the main congenital malformations of the fibrous coat of the rabbit eyeball, the authors will take stock of the diseases of the cor nea for this species : successively ulcerative keratitis, infectious kerati tis, keratomycosis, secondary keratitis, corneal dystrophys and degeneratio ns. As far as possible, a brief synthesis will be made on aetiopathogeny an d diagnosis as well as on prognosis and therapy.
