Abstract
A microbial biosensor based on an immobilized microorganism (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and Clark-type oxygen electrode consisting of a gold cathode, s ilver anode, KCl electrolyte and an oxygen permeable Teflon membrane is des cribed. The determination was based on the respiratory activity of the micr oorganism in the presence of different glucides (sucrose and glucose). A re sponse time of 90-120 sec, for steady-state method and 10-15 sec, for initi al slope method was registered. The calibration curve was Linear in the 6.1 0(-3) to 10(-1) M range. This type of biosensor is used for selective monit oring of sucrose in the presence of glucose using a second anti-interferenc e layer with GOD and CAT. The interference of glucose was no more than 10%.
