H. Kawano et al., GENERATION OF MORE THAN 40 ROTATIONAL RAMAN-LINES BY PICOSECOND AND FEMTOSECOND TI-SAPPHIRE LASER FOR FOURIER-SYNTHESIS, Applied physics. B, Lasers and optics, 65(1), 1997, pp. 1-4
The generation of more than 40 rotational stimulated Raman emission li
nes in hydrogen gas by use of a picosecond and femtosecond Ti:sapphire
laser is reported. The spectral range of the emission lines extends f
rom the near-infrared to the far-ultraviolet region. The resulting bro
ad bandwidth allows the generation of a 0.6-fs pulse by coherent super
position, i.e., Fourier synthesis, of the emission lines.
