Nd. Hung et al., STUDIES OF PICOSECOND SPECTROTEMPORAL SELECTION LASERS USING DIFFERENT DYES IN MICROCAVITIES WITH A 2-STAGE-ARRANGEMENT, Applied physics. B, Lasers and optics, 65(1), 1997, pp. 19-23
The spectral and temporal characteristics of transient lasing processe
s of low-Q microcavities working with different dye solutions are dire
ctly and simultaneously measured. The theoretical and experimental res
ults obtained allow one to extend the spectre-temporal selection (STS)
method to a two-STS stage arrangement and different dyes in order to
produce the shortest pulses achievable by this method. Using an 8 ns p
ulse pumping and a two-stage arrangement, generation of ca. 2 ps pulse
s at the different laser wavelengths is demonstrated. This corresponds
to a pulse-shortening factor greater than 3000.
