Abstract
Using for the first time a waveguide CO2 laser of wide tunability to p ump (CD3OD)-C-13 we could observe 10 new far infrared laser lines rang ing from 109 mu m to 472 mu m. The lines were generated by pumping inf rared absorbing transitions of large offset appertaining to the C-O st retching Q-branch. All lines were characterised in wavelength, polaris ation, optimum pressure of operation and precise offset measurements.
