Abstract
This review covers the chemical structures, efficacy, side effects, to xicity, and mechanisms of action of various classes of antidepressants : tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, and second generation antidepressants including the serotonin selective reuptake inhibitors, and novel drugs such as mirtazapine, nefazodone, and venla faxine.
