The activities of cefotaxime and minocycline against Aeromonas hydrophila w
ere investigated, Cefotaxime {4 times the MIG) plus minocycline (0.75 times
the MIC) elicited an inhibitory effect for 48 h in a time-kill study, and
more infected mice treated with both drugs survived (91%) than survived aft
er treatment with cefotaxime (9%) or minocycline (44%) alone, suggesting th
at cefotaxime and minocycline act synergistically against A. hydrophila.
