The coexistence curves of three pseudobinary microemulsion systems, consist
ing of surfactant, water and n-alkane, were determined by measurements of r
efractive index. The critical exponent beta was deduced precisely from coex
istence curves, which are consistent with the 3D-Ising exponent when the te
mperatures approach to the critical points, The experimental results, also i
ndicate that the critical amplitude scaling laws for chain-molecular soluti
ons are valid for these microemulsion systems.
