Sm. Fang et al., Characteristics of the lithospheric bottom interface and seismicity in eastern China and its vicinity, CH J GEO-CH, 44(1), 2001, pp. 48-53
The deep gravity anomaly is obtained from Bouguer anomaly using the techniq
ue of wavelet transform separation. Constrained by authentic prior informat
ion from other geophysical methods and using series solution of spheric har
monics,a joint inversion is carried out with respect to the deep gravity an
omaly in eastern China and the adjacent areas. The distribution pattern of
the lithospheric bottom interface is revealed. The characteristics of the l
ithospheric bottom interface and distribution pattern of strong earthquakes
are also discussed. The study shows that eastern China and its vicinity is
characterized by zoning with respect to geomorphic distribution, various g
eophysical fields and lithosphere structure. This behavior is likely relate
d to the depth variation of the lithosphere. The difference in the lithosph
eric bottom interface pattern affects the movement of the lithosphere and a
series of geological processes. The distribution of strong earthquakes is
also closely related to the lithospheric bottom interface pattern and tecto
nic environment.
